Often we hear from people that we shouldn't take things for granted, celebrate life, don't sweat the small things, cherish every moment. Nice thoughts, but how often do we truly stop, reflect, and live these values? last week a 13-year old boy was killed when a catamaran mast snapped and fell on him. What was going to be a memorable, late afternoon cruise off of Diamond Head became the most horrible of accidents.
I can't even imagine what is going through the minds of the parents, friends, and relatives. The thought of losing a loved one, let alone a child, is impossible to comprehend when you're standing on the outside. And it is equally impossible to fathom what this accident does to the parents and loved ones now groping for meaning and answers.
