Sirens Sound Without Problems

By Diane Ako

OAHU (KHNL)- The Civil Defense sirens sounded this afternoon as they do on the first of every month- without any problems. These sirens have been in the news a lot lately; under fire for working when they shouldn't, and not sounding when people think they should. In November, two sirens in Wilhemena and Kaimuki went off by mistake. In October, many criticized State Civil Defense for not sounding the alarms after the Big Island earthquake.
