WAIKIKI (KHNL) - A long-delayed project to fix a famous Waikiki beach, has been delayed yet again.
After waiting weeks for the surf to die down, crews finally resumed work to replenish the sand at Kuhio Beach on Monday. The plan is to pump about 10,000 cubic feet of sand from the ocean floor back up to the beach.
But once again, high surf pushed back plans. Crews now hope to start work on Thursday. A section of Kuhio Beach will be closed during the work.
