Shoppers Hunt For Bargains All Day

By Beth Hillyer

(KHNL) - The holidays are officially upon us!

And one of the biggest indicators of that was the widespread madness exhibited at many malls on Friday.

It's a day traditionally known as "Black Friday" - when shoppers head out in full force looking for the best deals.

Pearlridge opened at six this morning and shoppers stayed till closing, fifteen hours later

The theme for many shoppers tonight was to take it easy, pace yourself.

"I'm trying to be a little more conservative and plan to do a lot more shopping," Andreia Borrega.

Some find it best to shop around. Each store has something to offer

"I'm doing real well actually," said Armando Tijerina. "I came around 10:30. I hit the navy exchange. I went up here. I'm thinking about Ala Moana later on."

There are amazing buys to be found on electronics and high end jewelry.

"Got some good bargains at the navy exchange. I-pods for the kids and jewelry. Got a lot of good deals as well," Tijerina told us.

And if you don't like crowds some savvy shoppers have this advice. Start your shopping early and pick ideal gifts throughout the year.

"Me being in the military. I don't have three days off to go shopping," said Borrega. "So I try to do it all year long."

For children that fall asleep, nestled in their beds, they're visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads.
