Statewide Smoking Ban Now in Effect

(KHNL) The anti-smoking law is now in effect.

The law makes it illegal to smoke in all enclosed restaurants, bars, office buildings, and other work places across the state.

Ala Moana shopping center is included in the new law.

At the Honolulu International Airport, those who want to smoke can only light up at the center median, or any other uncovered area outside the airport building.

The ban also means no smoking within 20-feet of sliding glass doors.

Violators could be fined up to fifty dollars.
