(KHNL) - A woman said she found bags of trash while hiking on a Waimano Trail in Pearl City. She called it nature hike spoiled.
"When you're hiking, you kinda wanna enjoy the beautiful nature that we're given," said Raini Miller. "You're hoping that people will respect it as much as you do."
The trail rewards hikers with spectacular views of Pacific Palisades. But in the middle of this treasure, Miller was shocked to find trash. From a bottle of antifreeze, to a saimin cup filled with mosquitoes. It was all scattered along the fence line.
"It's just disheartening," said Miller. "It makes you sick. I was just nauseous."
When we went up, we found bottles, cans and empty bento boxes. The trail is only used by hikers and hunters, but we also found items they probably wouldn't be carrying. Items like chairs, toys, oil bottles.
The sight of this trash makes Miller sick, and she wants something done.
"I'm not sure who has done the dumping, but I wanna get the word out there and get it cleaned up," said Miller.
So next time she, or anyone else, hikes up the trail, they'll be properly rewarded.
