(KHNL) - After getting soaked by the rain Tuesday, Windward Oahu residents were hoping for some sunshine Wednesday. No such luck.
For a second day, Windward Oahu drivers coped with challenging conditions on their roadways.
A chocolate river flowed across Kapaa Quarry Road. Birds in the area braved the wet weather, as large trucks barreled through a small mudslide. Smaller cars were turned away at a roadblock.
The showers are being blamed for a chain-reaction crash on the H-3 Freeway. Kuni's Towing says it moved five of six cars from the scene, as road crews worked in the rain to sweep up the debris.
It was slick inside the Wilson Tunnel. There was ponding in several spots.
But you can still find beauty on a gray day like this. Flowers on the side of the road certainly enjoyed the moisture.
The rain also affected traffic on Kauai. Police sealed off the Hanalei Bridge after the river there began to rise. It connects Hanalei Town to the rest of the island.
