(KHNL) - Surf was up along Oahu's north shore again Thursday. Lifeguards posted warning signs telling swimmers to keep out. But not everybody paid attention.
A young visitor from Japan was one of the lucky ones, thanks to a lifeguard who just happened to be patrolling the beach, she was safely pulled from the water.
"I noticed this Japanese woman in trouble not being bale to keep her head above water and then a couple of bigger sets were coming in and she was just in a bad spot at the wrong time you know,"Abe Lerner
Although waves did back down from Wednesday the shorebreak was still large, and dangerous.
