PIER 38, HONOLULU (KHNL)- A fishing and seafood festival in Honolulu drew quite a crowd today! There was manmade snow so people could try some ice fishing. Kids' games, fancy fish, fresh poke- it was all to celebrate the fishing and seafood industry in Hawaii.

The newly formed Pacific Island Fisheries Group (PIFG) sponsored the event. The non profit group aims to keep fisherman informed of what's going on in their community. Neal Kanemoto of the PIFG expains, "A lot of people don't know that commercial fishing in Hawaii is very viable productive industry and it helps a lot. It creates jobs and we have product available. We have our own product; we're not importing."
