(KHNL) - (KHNL) - In a closely fought race, State Senator Bob Hogue defeated Quentin Kawananakoa in the District 2 U.S. House Republican race. Hogue led Kawananakoa throughout the evening. When the third printout was released, Hogue has 8,393 votes or 45.6 percent and Kawananakoa has 8,194 votes or 44.5 percent, according to Hawaii's Office of Elections third printout. Unlike the crowded field of ten Democrats in the District 2 race, Hogue and Kawananakoa were the only two GOP candidates. Hogue will take on Mazie Hirono on November 7.
