(KHNL) - Friday night Theresa Kapaona drove past the crime scene at the Waiane Market on Farrington Hwy, not knowing that it was her son who was beaten to death.
"I had a feeling something wrong but I didn't stop," Kapaona said.
Witnesses say the three suspects beat 47-year-old Roger Haudenshild until he was unconcious and then continued to kick and punch him for several minutes.
The Waianae woman said she later got a phone call from her son's girlfriend, who had witnessed the savage beating.
"She told me mom, yes. Roger died. He's dead," Kapaona said, and now she can't get his face out of her mind.
"I looked at him his face was all smashed full of blood I felt his hand touched him so cold they told me he was dead," she said.
A witness got a good description of the the suspect and the car they took off in and detectives are chasing down leads. And while Kapaona worries that the suspects will attack someone else, she has words of kindness for her sons attackers.
