Schools Locked Down As Police Search For Auto Theft Suspects

KAHALA (KHNL) - Star of the Sea School and Wilson Elementary School in Kahala went under lockdown around 2:15 PM Thursday as police scoured the area for two or possibly three male supects.

At around 3:00 PM police arrested a male suspect who appeared to be in his teens. Police say that the suspects were possibly involved in an auto theft earlier this afternoon. Police found the suspected stolen car at Kahala Mall.

At around 3:30 PM police searched both schools but were unable to locate two or three additional suspects, who remain at large. One of the suspects is possibly armed.

At around 3:40 PM the schools began discharging students. By 5:00 PM both schools had released all students safely.
