Onboard For 2006 RIMPAC Exercises

(KHNL) - The world's largest international maritime exercise are in full swing.

And its happening in the waters off the Hawaiian Islands.

The exercises involve hundreds of warships, submarines, aircraft, as well as tens of thousands of troops.

Missles fire at enemy targets.

Choppers race out troops to defend our shores.

And in the water, more sailors and soldiers are coming to help.

Sounds scary, but it's just a scenario in the military's global war games.

They say there's no better training than having lots of ships submarines and planes at sea working on a shared objective against a potential adversary.

Every other summer the U.S. trains with 7 other nations.

This one is one of the largest RIMPAC war games in recent years.
