2006 Aloha State Equestrian Games

(KHNL) - There was a lot of horsing around at an olympic-sized competiton in Leeward Oahu.

The 2006 Aloha State Games Equestrian competition began with a patriotic tribute then the competitors stepped up the action.

Riders of all abilities walked, trotted and cantered their horses in front of the watchful eyes of a judges, before taking off in the jumping catagory.

A smaller horse showed he had the right stuff in the fierce competition that included English riding and Western events.

Winners took home colorful medals and ribbons in the olympic style equestrian event.

    Most of Yosemite National Park is set to reopen Tuesday after a 20-day closure that cost the tourist magnet millions of dollars and devastated local businesses.
