Man Dead After SUV Crashes into Tree

(KHNL) - One man is dead and two other men are in serious condition, after an early Wednesday morning crash in front of Waipahu High School.

Police say a Nissan was driving east bound on Farrington Highway when the crash happened just before 1 a.m.

According to reports the Sport Utility Vehicle was speeding and passing cars.

"The vehicle lost control, went onto the side walk, off onto the gravel shoulder and into a tree," Sgt. John Agno said.

The driver of the SUV and one of the passengers were taken to Queen's Medical Center in serious condition.

A second passenger was extricated from the vehicle, and taken to Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.

Police say that passenger died a few hours later.

Officers say all three victims are men in their 30's.

Investigators suspect speed and alcohol may be factors in this crash.
