Ambulance Crash Causes Hydrant Geyser

(KHNL) - They normally treat patients, but an unusual accident turns the tables on ambulance workers responding to an emergency call.

An ambulance hit a fire hydrant Friday night, sending a geyser shooting into the air.

The ambulance driver was headed to Straub Hospital with a patient, when he claims another driver cut him off, causing the accident.

The strong spray of water trapped the patient inside, so the fire department sent a truck out to help block the foutain, in order to get the patient out.

Four ambulance staffers were also treated and released.
