Aloha Air Launches 1960's Retro Airliner

HONOLULU (KHNL) - Aloha Airlines is joining the "throw-back" craze. Take a look at this Boeing 737.

It's called Aloha Airline's Funbird and it's a re-creation of a plane that made its debut back in 1969. Yeah, baby! The Funbird concept led to a succession of flower power themed uniforms and logo items which were very popular during the late 1960's and early 1970's.

The Funbird is going back into inter-island service, complete with airline attendants going retro as well.

"Well, we're trying to bring these back. We love the the uniforms!" says one flight attendant sporting the bright orange retro outfit.

Aloha airlines is celebrating 60 years of service in the islands.

The Funbird re-enters service later this week.

Scientists are noticing fewer and fewer moths, ladybugs, fireflies and butterflies, but they can't quite quantify what's happening to flying insects because they never measured how many bugs there used to be.
