Suspect in Jewelry Heist Arrested

(KHNL) - A second suspect in last week's brazen jewelry heist is locked up at the Honolulu Police Department's main cellblock awaiting charges.

Officers arrested 31-year-old Marvin Quemado, Jr. on suspicion of robbery and drug offenses Monday night.

Investigators believe he's an accomplice in the armed robbery of a jeweler outside the Golden Coin Restaurant in Waipahu last Thursday.

A gunman opened fire, but no one was injured.

Shortly after the stick-up, officers arrested 25-year-old Bryan Higa at Leeward Bowl in Pearl City.

Police have not yet recovered the stolen property. The victim told investigators the suspects fled with $2 million worth of jewelry.
