WAIPAHU (KHNL) Flames quickly spread through a vacant building in Waipahu Sunday afternoon. Fire crews arrived at about 3:30 PM to find the building fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control within 15 minutes.

Customers at a Chevron station nearby witnessed the incident.

"We had seen the place was on fire -- a big fire--but there was nobody around, no cops, nothing. It was big already. Fire was just coming out of the windows and all, the roof. I just took a couple of pictures on my phone and then called the cops" said witness Polu Faamai.

neighbors say they have repeatedly tried to get the owner of the vacant building to clean it. Fire investigators estimate the damages to the building at ten thousand dollars.
