Kauai (KHNL) - Search teams worked to find the body of a young Colorado boy, who was swept out to sea while playing off Anahola Beach on Saturday.
Monday search teams criss-crossed the ocean for signs of 9 year-old Tyler White. His mother, 32 year old Jennifer White, went in to save both him and his 8 year-old brother Aaron. However, she was also overcome by the crashing waves and had to be rescued. She died Monday morning after being taken off life support.
Surfers say the break at Anahola is often unpredictable and dangerous.
"Definitely undertow. Suck you straight out if tire. Suck you straight under pretty much. Like a family beach down there called Smitts, best bet," said local surfer Arian Apuna.
The White family had been on Kauai for about two months where dad Chris took a job building custom homes.
