HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A murder suspect who was on the run for two years is scheduled to appear before a judge Monday.

Members of the Hawaii Fugitive Task Force brought John Wilfred Penitani into the District Court cellblock on Alakea Street Thursday night. The 26-year-old was extradited from Tonga this week.

He is accused of participating in the beating death of 26-year-old Mikiala Kahalewai outside Pachinko Karaoke in April 2004. Police say Penitani and a second suspect, Ulutunu Faumuina, Jr., attacked Kahalewai because Kahalewai urinated in their truck.

Penitani is scheduled to be arraigned at Circuit Court on Monday.
