Medevac Flights Suspended

(KHNL)  Our News Partner, the Honolulu Advertiser is reporting the Army will halt medevac helicopter flights.

The life saving flights help save people involved in serious car accidents or those who have experienced some kind of trauma.

You often see the Army chopper with the big red cross flying low over the freeway rushing the injured to the Queens Medical Center.

The military pilots rush to help civillians under a long standing agreement.

But now these pilots and their helicopters are heading to Iraq and there are no other choppers available to replace them.

The missions of our local medevac pilots will be suspended April 1rst and they may not return until October of 2007.
