WAHIAWA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The 24-year-old Waianae man who was killed in a moped crash in Wahiawa Saturday night has been identified.

On Tuesday, Honolulu's medical examiner released identified the man as Allen Conrad Jr. An autopsy found that he died from head injuries.

The crash happened on Wilikina Drive just before 8 p.m. near Kamananui Road.

Honolulu Police say Conrad Jr. was traveling with two others northbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control and was ejected from his moped.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 24-year-old Nanakuli man who was traveling closely behind and was unable to avoid colliding into Conrad Jr., lost control of his moped and was also ejected.

That man was taken to a hospital in serious condition. A third rider in the group was reportedly uninjured.

None of the riders were wearing helmets, officials said.

"The roadway is dark. It had been raining a little bit earlier so we believe that maybe wet road conditions could have been a problem as well," Lt. James Slayter of the Honolulu Police Department said.

Wilikina Drive was shut down for more than three hours in both directions as police conducted an investigation.

This is the 47th fatal crash on Oahu compared to 31 at the same time last year. The investigation is ongoing.
