PEARL HARBOR (HawaiiNewsNow) - Access to the USS Arizona Memorial won't resume until Oct. 1, at the earliest.

That's according to the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument, which said an exact date for the memorial's reopening hasn't yet been set.

While the monument remains open, the iconic white memorial in Pearl Harbor has been closed on since May for repairs.

National Park officials said repairs to the memorial have been made, but the reopening won't happen until the fall.

The memorial is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the islands.

While the memorial is closed, visitors can visit the monument and take a narrated harbor tour.
