Lanes of Kapiolani Boulevard remain closed near the Convention Center on Tuesday morning for ongoing repairs to an 12-inch water main break.
The break, which happened around 2 p.m. Monday, initially closed all lanes, but officials have reopened two Ewa-bound lanes between Kaheka Street and Atkinson Drive.
As a result, the typical morning contraflow on Kapiolani Boulevard will end at McCully Street.
Board of Water Supply officials say the lane closures will be in place until further notice.
In the meantime, drivers are advised to avoid the area and to use alternate routes where possible.
According to BWS, the damage was reported by a construction worker in the area.
A water wagon has been placed by Papa John's to provide water for the one affected building.
