LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - An early morning fire ripped through the loading dock area of an industrial warehouse in Lihue Tuesday, causing $1.5 million in damage, county officials said.

The Kauai Fire Department responded around 3:30 a.m. to the warehouse of Y. Hata & Co., Ltd. on Aukele Street.

Lihue firefighters were first on scene and later joined by crews from the Kapaa and Kalaheo stations.

Upon arrival, they discovered at least two delivery trucks engulfed in flames along with a stack of wooden pallets. Flames also started to burn the nearby structure, officials said.

Firefighters began battling the fire and had it fully extinguished by 4:45 a.m.

The company said in a statement that four delivery trucks sustained damage and the ongoing investigation and partial loss of power is impacting deliveries at least through Wednesday.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
