WAIMEA, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kauai County's Housing Agency is holding a public meeting to discuss a new affordable housing project in west Kauai.
The community is invited to learn about the draft Environmental Assessment for the Waimea Huakai Affordable Housing project.
It's a project that's slated to sit on 6.5 acres of land behind the West Kauai Technology & Visitor Center. Project developers say there will be two phases for the project.
The first phase will consist of 35 units ranging from one to three bedroom layouts. Phase two will feature 32 single-family homes, two to four bedrooms, for sale.
The public meeting will be held Monday night at the Waimea Neighborhood Center, beginning at 6 p.m. and lasting until 8 p.m. Public comments on the project are welcomed.
