HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - With traffic seemingly worsening every time Hawaii's public school students head back to class, the state Department of Education is rolling out an easier way for parents and students to keep track of school buses.
The department's Student Transportation Services branch on Monday announced the launching of a bus stop locator app called 'Infofinder i' that lets riders keep track of bus pick-up schedules and drop-off times.
"We're pleased to offer this new platform that will incorporate technology and our student transportation system," said Dann Carlson, assistant superintendent of the Office of School Facilities and Support Services. "Instead of calling your child's school, you can directly access the school bus route information online in a convenient and easy manner."
The website allows users to input their home address and hit search. The app then returns information on the nearest bus stop, as well as designated pick-up times.
Education department officials say the link to the website will also be postedon individual school websites. To use the tool, please click here.
