Big Island police investigate shooting in Glenwood

MOUNTAIN VIEW, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - Big Island police are investigating a shooting Thursday night in Glenwood.

Police initially responded to reports of a man who had been shot at around 9:15 p.m. on Highway 11, near the intersection with North and South Glenwood roads.

Police said someone fired shots from a white sedan. The car fled in an unknown direction.

The victim, who has been identified as a 32-year-old man, suffered apparent gunshot wounds to his abdomen and leg.

He was transported to the Hilo Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

No suspects have been identified at this time.
