HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Emily Maglio made a name for herself on the floor of the Stan Sheriff Center as one of the Rainbow Wahine program's more dominant middle hitters.
Nowadays, the former indoor and beach volleyball All-American is making her presence known on the international scene with the Canadian national indoor women's team that will be competing this week at the Pan American Cup in the Dominican Republic.
Maglio helped Team Canada sweep through Pool A with a perfect 3-0 record en route to Friday's semifinals.
Maglio is one of four middle hitters on the team and has scored 29 points - an average of 9.6 points per match.
In Canada's opener against Peru, Maglio recorded 12 points in a sweep followed by an 11-point, five-block match against the Dominican Republic.
