HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Tickets are now on sale for the seventh annual Goodwill Goes GLAM! Fashion Show presented by Bank of Hawaii Foundation, being held July 19 at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. Local female designers and business owners Allison Izu Song of Allison Izu and Summer Shiigi of Ten Tomorrow are co-producing this year’s show, which raises funds and support for Goodwill Hawaii’s mission to help people with employment barriers to become self-sufficient through the power of work.

Together Izu and Shiigi bring more than 30 years of experience in Hawaii’s fashion industry to the 2018 GLAM! Show themed “The Fashion Edit.” Separately, Izu and Shiigi will each bring her own collection of Goodwill finds to the runway to showcase her distinct style and brand.

“For my collection, I was really inspired by the abundance of men’s wear available at the Goodwill Beretania Store and decided to have some fun deconstructing and reconstructing the pieces for women,” said Izu, owner and designer of Allison Izu.

“It’s been such a fun process finding old prints and fashions at Goodwill to repurpose into a collection that represents who I am as a designer,” said Shiigi, owner and designer of Ten Tomorrow. “I like to create pieces that are versatile and can be worn anytime, anywhere whether you’re heading to the beach, work or a night out.”

The GLAM! Fashion Show kicks off the four-day fundraiser for Goodwill Hawaii, which features a 20,000 square-foot pop-up store with more than 40,000 name brand, vintage and one-of-a-kind items curated from donations received from the community. Fashion Show tickets can be purchased pre-sale for $25 online or at the door for $30. Entrance includes exclusive first access to the GLAM! Sale.

The event will continue through the weekend, July 20-22, with FREE admission to the public GLAM! Sale. Shoppers can enjoy entertainment, food (for purchase) and enter to win special prizes including a Goodwill shopping spree. Hours of operation are from 10 am to 8 pm on Friday and Saturday and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday with free parking available at McKinley High School.

Goodwill Goes GLAM! presented by Bank of Hawaii Foundation is now in its seventh year of raising awareness for Goodwill Hawaii’s job training, education and support services that help disadvantaged people find meaningful employment. More than $350,000 was raised at Goodwill Goes GLAM! in 2017, and Goodwill Hawaii was able to assist more than 12,000 individuals statewide. For more information, visit www.higoodwill.org/glam.
