SALT LAKE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are looking for a driver in a hit-and-run crash in Salt Lake on Sunday night.
Police said around 8:45 p.m., a vehicle struck an 82-year-old man in a marked crosswalk on Ala Ilima Street near Ala Napuaa Place.
The driver got out of his vehicle to help the pedestrian, but a white Ford coming in the opposite direction struck the 82-year-old who was lying on the street, police said.
That driver fled the scene, according to officers.
The victim was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
Officials said the man who first struck the pedestrian was not drunk or speeding, but rain may have been a factor.
