More showers are in the forecast through Monday morning for Kauai and the windward areas of the smaller islands, but drier and more stable conditions are expected by late Monday into the middle of the week. A few more windward and mauka showers are possible late Thursday into the weekend. Trade winds will weaken very slightly through Monday night and then become locally breezy again by midweek.
At the beach, the east shore swell is on the way down as the trade winds decrease. A moderate bump is expected for south shores late Tuesday. For mariners, a Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for the usual windier waters around Maui County and the Big Island.
