LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Rachael Ostovich couldn't kick off The Ultimate Fighter Finale for "Team Hawaii" as she lost to Montana De La Rosa in the third round by way of submission (rear-naked choke.)
Ostovich, a Waianae native, drops to 1-1 in her young UFC career coming into tonight's after De La Rosa took the fight to Ostovich in the first, landing at will on her feet. Late in the second round, Ostovich began to find her offense and landed a couple of clean shots to De La Rosa before the round ended.
Coming out in the third round, Ostovich needed a finish to win and nearly landed an armbar early in the round. De La Rosa, however, turned the tables on Ostovich after fighting off the submission and was able to gain top control.

From there, De La Rosa landed some ground-and-pound and and was able to get Ostovich's back before securing the choke.
Ostovich was the first of two fighters from Hawaii fighting tonight with Hilo native Brad Tavares fighting later on in the main event against Israel Adesanya.
