HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Wahine basketball team will head to the ninth island for the second-straight season to take part in this year's Dual in the Desert.
Hawaii will compete against the likes of Florida, Kansas, Northwestern, UNLV, Utah, Washington State and Wichita State in Las Vegas on December 19-21.
The 2018-19 campaign marks the second-consecutive season UH has competed in the event and will tip off the festivities with host UNLV on the 19th, at 10 a.m. HT.
The Bows will be a part of the Rebel Division and will compete against either Utah or Florida on the 21st.
Head coach Laura Beeman returns standout players from last season in seniors Tia Kanoa and Lahni Salanoa along with juniors Julissa Tago and Makenna Woodfolk.
The Wahine finished 12-18 overall last season including an eighth-place finish in the Big West Conference standings. Hawaii fell to eventual tournament champions, CSUN, in the opening round of the tournament.
The remaining 2018-19 schedule for the Rainbow Wahine has not yet been finalized and will be released at a later time.
