LAHAINA, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Officials from the Department of Health are advising people to stay out of west Maui waters after a spill on Saturday.
The spill happened early in the morning at the Lahaina wastewater pump station, according to officials. The spill affected coastal waters half a mile north of Mala boat ramp between Kapunakea and Wahikuli roads.
Right now it's unclear how much waste water was discharged in the spill.
However, the public is advised to stay out of the water until warning signs are removed.
