Warning signs posted after shark spotted at a North Shore beach

HALEIWA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Warning signs have been posted at a beach on Oahu's north shore after a shark was sighted Friday afternoon.

Ocean safety officials say a 10-foot shark was seen at Alii Beach in Haleiwa. It's not known what type of shark it was, but it was seen roughly 50 feet from shore.

The shark was not showing signs of aggressive behavior.

Beachgoers were cleared from the water and signs will remain posted until the all clear is given.
