KULIOUOU, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Lane and ramp closures are planned for areas of eastbound Kalanianaole Highway this week.
The Hawaii Department of Transportation will be shutting down Kalanianaole between the H-1 Freeway and West Hind Drive during overnight hours Sunday night through Friday morning. The closures will take place from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
HDOT is performing pavement reconstruction and resurfacing work as part of the Kalanianaole Highway Resurfacing project.
The department gave a detailed rundown of next week's closures in a news release:
Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights
The two right lanes will be closed from Ainakoa Avenue to West Hind Drive. A contraflow will be set up in the westbound lanes.
The right lane will be closed between the H-1 Freeway and Ainakoa Avenue.
The Waialae Avenue onramp will be closed to Kalanianaole Highway. Motorists may enter Kalanianaole Highway via Kilauea Avenue, Malia Street or Ainakoa Avenue. For a detour map, click here.
