WAHIAWA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A homeless woman was killed while trying to cross the H-2 Freeway in Wahiawa early Friday, Emergency Medical Service said.

EMS said the 30-year-old was hit by a truck at around 3 a.m.

Two other people, a 25-year-old man and 20-year-old woman, were reported to be in stable condition.

The crash prompted authorities to shut down all southbound lanes of the H-2, from the Wilikina Drive on-ramp to the Leilehua Golf Course overpass. Lanes were reopened around 6:35 a.m.

According to Honolulu police, the truck was traveling at speed limit.

This is the second day in a row that a pedestrian was killed while trying to cross the freeway. On Thursday morning, a woman tried to cross the H-1 Freeway in the Kalihi area. Officials believe that woman was also homeless.

Police are reminding the public that it is illegal to cross the freeway on foot.
