HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - After being drafted in the 38th round of the MLB Draft by the Minnesota Twins last week, Rainbow Warrior pitcher Dylan Thomas has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Region second team.
Thomas is the first Hawaii player to receive the honor since 2011.
Last season, Thomas tied the program single-season record with 14 saves on 18 opportunities, ranking 11th in the country in that category. Because of his play from the bullpen, Thomas was named a semifinalist for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Stopper of the Year Award.
In his two-year career with the Rainbow Warriors, Thomas has 23 saves with a 4-2 record and 1.91 ERA, striking out 63 batters during that span.
