Attorney for man accused of shooting neighbor through door: 'He didn't intend to kill anybody'

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The man accused of shooting his neighbor through the front door of his Ewa Beach home appeared in court Tuesday.

Gregory Farr has been charged with manslaughter for killing Navy Chief Petty Officer John Hasselbrink.

Hasselbrink lived in the neighborhood, and was believed to have accidentally attempted to open the door to the wrong home when Farr opened fire.

Farr's attorney, Marcus Landsberg, said his client is cooperating with police.

"We're hoping that what people understand is that Mr. Farr didn't intend to kill anybody and definitely not before he went to sleep that night," Landsberg said. "What he was doing was, he was worried about his family and that someone was coming to get them."
