PALOLO VALLEY (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu fire crews rescued an injured hiker on Lanipo trail on Saturday evening.
The man was hiking the trail as part of a group of six men visiting the island, when he injured his lower leg about a mile into the hike.
HFD crews were able to airlift the 22-year-old man from the trail around 6 p.m. to the Palolo Valley District Park landing zone.
He was then transferred to paramedics who treated his injuries around 6:25 p.m.
