HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Hawaii postal worker is charged with stealing from the mail.
An indictment issued in federal court Wednesday said that Keoni Uehara, identified as an employee of the U.S. Postal Service, removed a $100 gift card from a piece of certified mail in July.
Theft of mail by a postal employee is a felony. Uehara was scheduled to appear in federal court Friday morning.
The indictment did not identify where Uehara was working at the time of the alleged theft.
