It's transition day, moving from trade winds to light and variable wind flow. Windward and mauka areas will be wet this morning, then pop-up showers over leeward and interior neighborhoods this afternoon.
High in Honolulu will be 83 degrees.
The trades are forecast to weaken from today into mid-week, then become breezy once again from Thursday into this weekend.
Low clouds and showers transported by the trades will remain focused over windward and mauka areas. However, local daytime sea breezes may allow clouds and a few showers to develop over interior and leeward sections of the smaller islands each afternoon through Wednesday.
Surf is forecast to be biggest along south shores today. According to the NWS, waves today will be 4-6 feet south, 3-5 feet north and west, 2-4 feet east.
No marine or weather advisories are posted.
