Locally breezy trade winds will be blowing over the state for Mother's Day. There is a pool of moisture east of the Big Island that will bring additional showers for the Hilo and Puna districts into Sunday morning as it moves west with the trades, but other areas should be dry with only isolated windward showers. No major changes are expected into the first half of the week.
At the beach, a northwest swell is on the way down but others are expected through the week. A long period SSW swell will start rising Sunday and gradually build through Tuesday but will likely remain below advisory levels. A Small Craft Advisory will remain posted for the usual windier waters around Maui County and the Big Island through early Monday morning.
