Winds will be light and variable today with a macro flow from the east-southeast. That could bring volcanic haze up the island chain. If you have respiratory conditions, take precautions.

Skies will be sunny with afternoon sea breezes creating some clouds and a few showers over leeward and interior neighborhoods.

High in Honolulu will be a sticky 85 degrees.

A weak surface trough near the islands and a front passing by far to the north will keep gentle wind speeds over the state for one more day. Clouds will increase over the islands during the day with sea breezes developing.

High pressure will pass north of the islands this weekend, with trade wind weather and locally breezy trades returning.

A surface ridge will remain north of the islands next week, maintaining trade winds to the area.

Surf is dropping but there are some bumps coming. As the trades build late in the weekend, east shores will come up. South side shores will see a moderate swell Monday and Tuesday.

Waves today will be 4-7 feet north, 2-4 feet west, 1-3 feet east and south.

No marine or weather advisories are in place.
