'Weird day': Online community reacts to Kilauea eruptions

PUNA, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - The internet is all abuzz after several eruptions in Kilauea's east rift zone Thursday and Friday sent lava spewing into the air: a stunning sight to see.

Immediately after a 5.0-magnitude earthquake rocked the Puna area on Thursday morning, creating a large plume, there was a noticeable spike in social media activity that has continued through Friday -- some users have been sharing video and images of the lava activity and others are sharing their messages of aloha to the Puna community.
