HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Calling all collectors and art enthusiasts - mark your calendars: This fine art exhibition and benefit sale will feature many of Hawaii’s most historically celebrated artists. This two-day-only art show and benefit sale for the Friends of Hawaii State Art Museum (FHiSAM), entitled “Hawaii Master Artists Show,” will be presented at the Artizen by MW Cafe Gallery, on the ground floor of 250 South Hotel Street, home of the Hawaii State Art Museum. This exhibition and sale provides established and budding collectors a chance to purchase works by some of Hawaii’s most important artists.

FHiSAM have gathered works from private collectors who are eager to advance the FHiSAM mission of celebrating and perpetuating the legacy of Hawaii’s important artists. Never before outside a museum and in one place, have so many pieces from so many of Hawaii’s master artists been available to view and purchase. Works will be priced attractively with the assistance of Art Appraisers Wayne Morioka and Andres Harnisch, to entice new collectors.

FHiSAM aims to support, raise awareness, and advance appreciation of Hawaii State Art Museum and Hawaii’s artists. Part of its mission is to develop the passion for collecting local artists’ works, raising the next generation of collectors and expanding the collections of established local art enthusiasts.

In the past year, FHiSAM has endeavored to increase HiSAM’s visibility to the Hawaii community and has hosted art exhibits featuring a multitude of local artists in the Artizen by MW Cafe Gallery space. FHiSAM’s goal is to educate and expand the base of local art appreciators and collectors. Many of these works have never been publicly shown since they were originally acquired decades ago. Interest in mid-century furniture and design is at an all-time high, as well as the art that goes with it, from this era.
