LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man connected to a deadly 2016 shooting on Kauai's south shore has been sentenced.
Clayton Kona was sentenced to five years in prison with credit for time served, The Garden Island newspaper reports.
In 2016, Kona reportedly hid the gun used in the shooting that killed 34-year-old Jon Togioka. Prosecutors also say Kona lied to police about the murder.
Kona's defense attorney blamed his actions on his use of crystal meth.
In March, a jury found Koma Kekoa Texeria Jr. guilty of pulling the trigger. His sentencing is set for July.
