LAIE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A hiker who got lost Saturday was rescued by HFD Sunday morning.
Fire officials say the woman in her 20s was on the Laie Falls Trails. She started hiking Saturday when she became disoriented and lost her direction as she neared the top of the summit.
HFD said she rode the night out on the mountain and planned to find her way back in the morning.
As she attempted to make her way out Sunday, HFD says she got exhausted and decided to call for help.
That's when the fire department dispatched Air1 and personnel. They arrived on scene just before 11 a.m. Sunday.
She was then airlifted out and brought to a landing zone at the end of Poohaili Street. Rescue operations were completed shortly after noon.
No injuries were reported.
